Regional Artifacts of Azadistan

Images of five hand-knotted rugs made in Armenia and Morocco were taken from the inventory collection of a rug retailer and fed into the Midjourney AI image generator, which was prompted to translate these traditional pieces into woven depictions of future landscapes in Southwest Asia & North Africa.

After a number of iterative generations, the resulting images were sent to a digital Jacquard weaving service.

Those physical pieces were taken as generative prompts to imagine what kind of artifacts might exist in these environments.
